Nigerian pastors who delivered fake prophecies about 2023 presidency

In the build up to 2023 presidential election in Nigeria, many pastors rushed out with prophecies of who would win the presidency or who would lose. Some said the APC’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu would win and others said Atiku Abubakar would carry the day and some said Peter Obi would be the winner.

What is painful about the so called prophecies is that the pastors or prophets claimed they heard from God or God told them. What they do not know is that God is not the author of confusion. ” God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar…” (Romans 3:4).
It is well said in the Bible what a true prophecy should be and how to identify fake prophecies. Jeremiah 23:21-22 captures the vainness of these prophecies, when it said: “I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.”
It now nails the point in Deuteronomy 18:22, which reads: “When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously; thou shalt not be afraid of him.”
Many Nigerian pastors prophesying about 2023 presidency were not sent by God,  but they claimed they heard from God. They are liars! they spoke presumptuously when God told them nothing.
Below are some of these pastors with fake prophecies:
1. Primate Elijah Ayodele
Primate Elijah Ayodele
The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on the even of the presidential election, came out with a troubling prophecy when he said Atiku Abubakar of the PDP would be the next president of Nigeria.
In a statement by his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele listed some of the assignments to include restructuring, fixing the education sector, reducing the price of petrol, and reviving the economy.
“Among these three candidates, Atiku has been given an assignment from God to fix the nation within four years. If God gives Atiku victory in this election, he is to use only four years for this special assignment.
“If he wins and refuses to do the will of God for the people, he will see the wrath of God.

“He will not complete his term because God’s anger will be placed on him. His assignment is to form an all-inclusive government, take care of security within six months, restructure before his term ends, reduce petroleum prices, fix the education sector, and revive the economy,” he said.

In the end, Tinubu of the APC won the presidential election.

2. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Few days to the presidential election, Pastor Oyakhilome, founder Christ Embassy, revealed what he called God’s choice for Nigeria in the name of Peter Obi to win the election.

In a metaphorical endorsement of Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, on Friday, February 17, the cleric literarily said Obi is God’s preference for Nigeria and he would win the February 25 election.

Oyakhilome narrated the spiritual stance of 3 leader candidates in the poll, which could be suggested to be Obi, Bola Tinubu of All Progressives Congress (APC) and their counterpart in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

According to him, the first candidate in his revelation was not himself but under the devil’s influence. He said: “He is under the influence of a devil. The devil was mocking and laughing, scoffing at Nigerians. The devil is using him. It is a wicked spirit of darkness, a mocker. The devil’s name is jackal. A jackal is a trickster, a swindler, who usually operate on behalf of another for the purpose of deception. This demon is mocking Nigeria. But he has been cut off.”

On the second candidate, he said, “In the spirit, the second candidate, if you let him get into office, you will have no country. You would have sold your country.”

Oyakhilome then revealed that “The third candidate was winning. He didn’t want to lose, but he was afraid of winning. Then I prayed, and the Lord gave him wing to fly.”

Oyakhilome’s prophesy hits the rock afterall as we all know who won the election.

3. Prophet Emmanuel Chukwudi

that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar will win the 2023 presidential election.
