6. 2023: Not Everybody Who Registered For Voters Cards Will Be Able To Vote — INEC Announces
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that not everyone who registered for the Continuous Voter Registration, (CVR), would be entitled to the Permanent Voters Cards, (PVCs) to make them eligible to vote.
The electoral body’s National Commissioner for Information and Voters Education, Mr Festus Okoye, made the disclosure during an interview on Arise TV in Abuja.
Okoye who stated that the estimated number of voters for the 2023 general election were 95 million, said that those who got involved in double registration would be deleted from the commission’s data and subsequently denied PVC.
He went on to reveal that in the first and second quarters of the CVR over 46% of those who registered were removed from the commission data for multiple registrations.

Former National Vice Chairman South-South of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Hilliard Eta has said that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is acting like the religious wing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The APC stalwart said this while speaking to journalists on Tuesday at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
He berated CAN for opposing the ruling APC’s presidential Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Eta stated that the religious body claim of an Islamization agenda shows that the body is acting like PDP’s political wing.
8. ‘No Candidate Is More Suited To Lead Nigeria Than Peter Obi’ – Datti Baba-Ahmed Replies Okowa
The Labour Party (LP) vice presidential candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has replied the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa over a recent statement that his principal, Peter Obi, lacks the experience to lead Nigeria.
Naija News earlier reported that Okowa, who is the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said Obi’s only experience as a former Governor in Anambra State is not enough to lead Nigeria.
He stressed that leading a country like Nigeria is hard and hence someone like Obi needed more to occupy the seat of the presidency.
But speaking in an interview on Channels TV on Monday, Datti Baba-Ahmed asked Okowa to present anyone that has experience more than Peter Obi.
According to Yusuf, the saying that Obi lacks enough experience is untrue stressing that he has more experience than other candidates.
9. 2023: ‘Why APC Is Worried About Kwankwaso’ – Osita Okechukwu
The Director-General, Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu, has revealed why the All Progressives Congress (APC) is worried about the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Speaking on Arise TV on Tuesday, the APC chieftain gave an analysis of what would be the outcome of the 2023 election.
Osita also faulted the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the party, stressing that as a Christian he would have preferred a Christian to be the vice presidential candidate of APC.
He added that Atiku may not get votes in the South East and South-South like the Peoples Democratic Party used to have but APC is worried that Kwakwaso might deprive the party of some votes in the North.
10. Obi-Tuary: If Anything Happens To Me Hold Peter Obi – Sam Omatseye Cries Out
Veteran journalist, Sam Omatseye has accused supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, of threatening to kill him.
Recall that Omatseye had on Monday published an opinion piece in The Nation, titled ‘Obi-tuary’, where he took a swipe at Obi, a former Anambra State governor.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Omatseye asked Peter Obi to call his supporters to order.
According to the journalist, the presidential candidate will be held responsible if anything happened to him.
He tweeted, “Mr. Peter Obi, call your supporters to order. They are calling and issuing death threats. If anything happens to me, you will be held responsible!
