Former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket.
The APC national leader polled 1,271 votes to defeat 13 other aspirants, including a former Transport Minister, Rotimi Ameachi and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who scored 316 and 235 votes respectively.
Truetells Nigeria reports that with Tinubu’s victory, he will square up against PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi and NNPP’s Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Tinubu defeated the likes of Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo; Rotimi Amaechi, former Minister of Transportation; and Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello; Senate President Ahmad Lawan; Governor David Umahi; Governor Ben Ayade; Pastor Tunde Bakare: Senator Sani Yerima.
The Lagos State Police Command has declared that there is no truth in a trending WhatsApp note claiming Fulani terrorists have planned an attack on Lagos State.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin in a statement on Tuesday urged residents and other members of the public to disregard the content of the Whatsapp note.
He added in the statement made available to Naija News that the Police is ever ready in collaboration with other security agencies to protect the lives and property of residents and citizens.
The statement added that those behind the message are only trying to create panic.

The order is sequel to the protest by students of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, over the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
It was gathered that the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, said the affected unions include ASUU, Non-Academic Staff of Universities, Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Non-Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, and all allied unions operating across all state-owned tertiary institutions.
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Adamu, on Wednesday evening wrote to the National Leader, Bola Tinubu following his victory at the presidential primary of the party.

Senate President, Ahmed Lawan has congratulated Bola Ahmed Tinubu after he emerged as the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate.
The senate president shared his thoughts in a statement he personally signed on Wednesday.
Lawan stated that he was excited the APC primaries was hitch free, adding that it goes to show the party can run its internal affairs smoothly without any rancor.

The Debt Management Office (DMO) says Nigeria’s total public debt stock increased to N41.60tn in the first quarter of 2022 from N39.56tn as of December 2021.
In a statement on Tuesday on its website, the DMO said the latest figure shows an increase of N2.04tn within a period of three months.
It said the public debt stock covers the total domestic and external debt of the Federal Government and state governments and the Federal Capital Territory.
The DMO also said the total public debt to GDP is now 23.27 per cent, which is below Nigeria’s self-imposed limit of 40 per cent.
