The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has struck out eight of the amended terrorism charges brought against the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu by the federal government of Nigeria.
The presiding judge, Justice Binta Nyako on Friday ruled against the federal government in eight out of the fifteen charges when the matter came up for hearing in court.
She maintained that the affected counts which were struck out do not disclose any offence against Kanu.
A former Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, has berated former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose over his recent comments about some presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Recall that Fayose had slammed some PDP presidential aspirants who had dumped the party in the past for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former governor who is eyeing the presidency had vowed not to step down for any northern candidate, insisting that the ruling party must zones its ticket to the South.
Fayose argued that the only right thing for the PDP to do is to zone its presidential ticket to the south, given that the ticket was zoned to the north in 2019 and southerners respected the party’s decision to allow only northern candidates emerge at the Port Harcourt convention.

Presidential Spokesman, Femi Adesina has berated some religious leaders in the country over their criticism of the Muhammadu Buhari government.
Adesina stated that “unguarded comments” made by these religious leaders contribute to the security challenges faced by the country at the moment.
The presidential aide accused some Christian and Muslim preachers of working closely with the opposition and critics of the President to sabotage his administration.
In an article released on Thursday night, Adesina said the Buhari government would no longer accept any uncouth language used by some preachers in the country today.
The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello on Friday boasted that he has successfully made more than 2,000 persons millionaires in the state since the advent of his administration in 2015.
Gov. Bello stated this in Abuja while answering questions during the “Second Annual GYB Seminar for Nigeria’s Political and Crime Correspondents,” Naija News reports.
“We have made nothing less than 2,000 millionaires in Kogi,” Bello said.
He was answering questions about his promise to produce millionaires just as President Muhammadu Buhari has done.

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has set a date for the ruling of the bail application filed by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
The court on Friday fixed May 18 and 26 to rule on the bail application of the IPOB leader.
Justice Binta Nyako took this decision on Friday after striking out eight out of fifteen count criminal charges against Kanu.
Recall that the judge threw out eight counts because the proof of evidence did not link him with the charges.
