1. Prophet TB Joshua Buried In Synagogue Church

The founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations, (SCOAN), Prophet Temitope Joshua, popularly known as TB Joshua has been buried.

Truetells Nigeria reports that the popular man of God was buried at the church’s premises after an internment service that had dignitaries from around the world.

TB Joshua’s corpse had on Thursday arrived at the church premises in the Ikotun-Egbe area of Lagos State.

2. ECOWAS Court Orders FG To Pay N30 Million To Agba Jalingo

The ECOWAS Court has asked the Federal Government to pay N30m to a popular activist and journalist, Agba Jalingo for ill-treatment and torture in Cross River state.

The judgment was delivered on Friday following a suit number ECW/CCJ/APP/10/2020 and brought by the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) on behalf of the journalist.

Recall that SERAP had dragged the government of Nigeria and Cross River state government to ECOWAS Court of Justice in Abuja “over the prolonged, arbitrary detention; unfair prosecution; persecution, and sham trial of journalist Agba Jalingo.”

3. Bandits Release Kaduna Students, Staff Members [Photo]

Bandits have released the kidnapped six students and two staff members of Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic in the Zaria area of Kaduna State.

Naija News had reported the bandits had attacked the polytechnic on June 11, 2021, kidnapping the students, staff members and killing one student during the operation.

But in an interview with Channels Television on Friday, the spokesman of the institution, Abdullahi Shehu, said the victims were released on Thursday night at an undisclosed location in Kaduna.

Shehu added that the kidnapped students and staff members were released after their parents and relatives negotiated with the bandits.

4. Sunday Igboho Drags Buhari Govt To Court, Wants Aides Released

Yoruba nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, has dragged the Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government before the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Naija News reports that the Sunday Igboho is demanding the unconditional release of his aides arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) at his house in the Soka area of Ibadan on July 1.

Speaking to The PUNCH on Thursday, counsel for the Yoruba Nation agitator, Chief Yomi Aliyu (SAN) disclosed that he had filed an action before a Federal High Court in Abuja for the release of the 13 arrested persons.

The lawyer did not give the details of the suit, but he said a spokesman for Igboho, Olayomi Koiki, had issued a statement on Wednesday that the DSS did not allow lawyers to see Igboho’s aides in its custody.

5. Dunamis: Arrested #BuhariMustGo Activists Sue DSS, Malami, Others

Five youths who were arrested by the DSS for wearing #BuhariMustGo T-shirts at Dunamis Gospel Church, Abuja, have sued the secret police and the Senior Pastor of the church, Paul Enenche.

Naija News reports that the five detained youths are Henry Nwodo, Victor Udoka, Emmanuel Larry, Samuel Gabriel and Ben Manasseh.

The suits are marked FHC/ABJ/CS/631/2021, FHC/ABJ/CS/636/2021, FHC/ABJ/CS/637/2021, FHC/ABJ/CS/638/2021 and FHC/ABJ/CS/639/2021.

Joining the first and fourth respondents – the DSS and Enenche – in the suits are the DSS Director-General, Yusuf Bichi; and the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN) as second and third respondents respectively.

6. APC vs PDP: Document Shows Lauretta Onochie Lied At Senate [Photo]

A document has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on social media, Lauretta Onochie, lied during her appearance before a Senate committee on Thursday.

According to the document seen by Naija News, Onochie is still a card-carrying member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and equally participating actively in party politics.

Senator Kabir Gaya led Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday screened Onochie in consideration of her appointment as Commissioner of INEC.

The 62-year-old female politician from Delta State claimed she schooled at the University of Calabar and the United Kingdom, having migrated there at a time.

7. Bandits Attack Zamfara Communities, Kill 42

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed not less than forty-two people in five communities of Faru district in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The affected communities are Tsauni, Gudan-Baushi, Gidan-Adamu, Wari and Gudan-Maidawa.

A resident of the affected community identified as Malam Buba Faru said the bandits invaded the communities on over 100 motorcycles.

He further stated that the criminals shot indiscriminately at the people and burnt their houses and food stores.

8. Orbih Says PDP Must Play Its Role As Opposition Party, Call For S/South Stakeholders Meeting

The National Vice Chairman South-South of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dan Orbih, has urged the party to start playing its role as the main opposition party in Nigeria.

Truetells Nigeria reports that Orbih said this on Thursday when he led the South-South party executive on a courtesy visit to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.

Orbih, who is a former chairman of the PDP in Edo State, noted that the former ruling party remains the hope of the people.

He slammed the Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government over its continuous borrowing, urging PDP members in the National Assembly to speak up.

9. Preliminary Report On Attahiru’s Plane Crash Will Be Ready Next Week – AIB

The Accident Investigation Bureau, on Thursday, said the preliminary report on the crash of a military aircraft that led to the death of the former Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 others will be ready next week.

AIB Commissioner, Akin Olateru, disclosed this in a statement released on eight flight accident reports by the Bureau in Abuja.

Olateru however, stated that it will be the military’s prerogative to make the report public.

10. Biafra: It’s Not By Force To Stay Together, Grant Ndigbo Referendum – Kanu Tells Buhari

Former Nigeria Ambassador to Argentina, Empire Kanu, has condemned President Muhammadu Buhari-led government over the abduction and extradition of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB.

Kanu called on the federal government to address the important issues causing agitations instead of persecuting Kanu

The former envoy warned the Nigerian Government against hunting the IPOB leader as if he his the problem of Nigeria.

He wondered why the Buhari government is interested in the IPOB leader who is agitating for equity and justice.
