In a chat with some selected Nigerians in Lisbon, the president urged them always to contribute their quota to the development of the nation.
While urging them also to ensure they use social media platforms to promote unity in the country rather than spread disunity, Buhari said the government would continue to take frantic actions against excesses on some platforms.
According to him, while these platforms have continued to reshape the world, some people have been using them negatively.
The leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the North-West region have demanded that the vice presidential slot of the party for 2023 must be filled by them.
The demand was made at the end of their meeting in Kaduna on Thursday as contained in a statement issued by the APC National Vice-Chairman (North-West), Dr. Salihu Lukman.
He stated that the regional APC leaders are set to engage the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and other stakeholders to ensure their demand becomes a reality.
Truetells Nigeria gathered that the Kaduna meeting was attended by APC Governors, gubernatorial candidates, Ministers and other leaders from the North-West region.
According to them, the region is a major contributor to party victories, providing 39% of the votes that gave APC victory in the 2015 and 2019 presidential elections.
Former Kaduna State Governor, Ahmed Makarfi has recommended a discussion between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike as a way to tackle the lingering dissatisfaction in the party.

However, giving his opinion on the matter, Makarfi submitted during a chat on Thursday with newsmen in Kaduna that while Wike has every right to feel bad about the issues, the disagreements are resolvable.
The former Governor added that Atiku must visit Wike and explain why he took the decisions that led to the emergence of Okowa after the PDP National Working Committee and other party leaders had endorsed the Rivers State Governor as his running mate.

The House of Representatives has decided to probe payments for subsidy on petroleum products, especially petrol under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Ad Hoc Committee to Investigate the Petroleum Products Subsidy from 2017 to 2021 will be formed by Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, and it will have eight weeks to provide a report to the House for future legislative action.

Bandit terrorists have reportedly kidnapped two Chinese nationals and killed thirteen security agents during an attack on a mining site in Niger State.
Truetells Nigeria gathered that the attack happened on Wednesday afternoon in Ajata, Aboki in Gurmana ward of Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
Speaking with reporters on Thursday, the Co-convener, Concerned Shiroro Youth of Niger State, Sani Kokki said the gunmen attacked the mining site and opened fire into the air.
He also stated that the bandits kidnapped a yet-to-be-identified number of people including two Chinese expatriates and killed some security operatives.
It was learned that Major Anara, and Capt Abubakar Samido, were among the military casualties in the attack carried out by terrorists.
An unspecified number of security agencies were killed including police officers.
Reacting to the development, the Niger State Government confirmed the attack on the mining site in a statement on Thursday.

Naija News earlier reported that the terrorist group had in a 16-minute video accused IPOB of killing a pregnant Muslim woman, Harira Jubril, and her four children in Anambra State.
Ansaru also alleged that the unknown gunmen terrorising the South-East were IPOB members, adding that the group was being supported to kill Muslims.
But in a swift response by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, IPOB said it will not drag issue with a terrorist group like Ansaru who only represent terrorism.
