Nigerian Army Vows To Sanction Officers Caught In Malpractices In Ongoing Promotion Exams

The Nigerian Army has cautioned its officers who are candidates at the ongoing promotion examination against engaging in any form of unethical practices.

The army reiterated that severe sanctions awaited those who violated the directive.

The Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army (TRADOC), Major-General Kevin Aligbe, who serves as the Examination President for the 2023 Captain to Major Practical Promotion Examination (CMPPE), made this known on Monday during his address to candidates at the examination venue in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Major-General Aligbe asserted that the examination serves as a critical prerequisite for their enrollment in the Junior Staff Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Jaji, Nigeria, and allied institutions in other countries.

He explained that the examination was designed to assess the competence of the officers while nurturing their leadership skills for more significant responsibilities within the Nigerian Army.

The TRADOC Commander assured the candidates of a fair and transparent examination process, overseen by the panelists and the directing staff.

However, Major-General Mohammed Usman, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 81 Division, encouraged the candidates to give their best efforts and uphold decorum and discipline, recognising the examination’s pivotal role in shaping their career progression.

The event drew participation from observers representing the Army Headquarters, Headquarters 81 Division Nigerian Army, Principal Staff Officers from Headquarters TRADOC, Nigerian Army Examination Panelists, and the Directing Staff.
