‘Next Six Months, Nigerians May Stone Buhari’ – Apostle Suleman

It’s our flashback Tuesday and NewsOnline Nigeria walks down the history lane to April 2015 when Apostle Suleman said that in the ‘Next Six Months, Nigerians May Stone Buhari’.

“Let me say this to you. In the next six months, people may stone Buhari,” these were the exact words of Apostle Johnson Suleman in April 2015 after Muhammadu Buhari won the 2015 Presidential election to emerge as Nigeria’s President.

TruetellsNigeria reports that Apostle Suleman made this statement during an interview with Punch Newspaper a month before Buhari was sworn in for his first term in office in 2015 which his party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) tagged “Change“.

Moving forward, this is 2020 and the President has since commenced his second term in office tagged “Next Level” but some Nigerians are not impressed and have since described Goodluck Jonathan’s administration as a better government.

With the “Next Level” government in full gear, NewsOnline Nigeria takes a look at events under President Buhari’s administration and if Nigerians are ready to “stone Buhari” or have started “stoning” Buhari.

In the words of Apostle Suleman: “Let me say this to you. In the next six months, people may stone Buhari. The reason I’m saying this is because the expectation is too high.

“Nigerians expect Buhari to put gold on their tables. Two, the large chunk of followership Buhari has are youths and young people and they are impatient. Young people don’t believe in progressive change, they want change.

“When they say change, they see a new picture. And Buhari has been talking from the two sides of the mouth. During campaign, he told us Boko Haram would be a thing of the past. Now, you are President-elect, you are saying people shouldn’t expect a miracle. Are you a pastor? If I wanted a miracle worker, won’t I bring a Mallam or a miracle worker? When you were being voted for, we were not voting for a pastor, so don’t tell us about miracles,” the cleric had said an interview with Punch in 2015.

This is 2020 and some Nigerians seem to be tired of the President’s administration, making us at NewsOnline Nigeria wonder when or if Nigerians will stone President Buhari as “predicted” by Apostle Suleman.

Though Nigerians are yet to stone President Buhari physically, they have, however, expressed disgust over a series of events under this administration.

Some of the issues Nigerians have raised the alarm on include what they described as lopsided appointments by the President, human rights abuses as well as lack of respect for the rule of law.

These issues have seen Nigerians stone Buhari and his administration on the social media, with the Punch Newspaper being the first to stone the President with an old military rank “Major General” as well as the reference of his administration as a regime in responses to the human rights abuses in the country last few months.
