Navy gift free medical Rhapsody to host community

In bid to help improve the health quality, Nigeria Navy under the guise of Naval Base Banda in collaboration with the association of residents doctors federal teaching hospital Lokoja has given out free medical Rhapsodies to the residents of Banda community.

 

Speaking to Journalist, The Commander Nigerian Navy Ship LUGARD, Commodore Ugochukwu Chijioke said the free medical Rhapsody is in line with the mandate of Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla to give back to their host communities.

 

Commodore Ugochukwu noted that the Base had previously educate and enlighten the people of Banda on the importance of prevention of malaria, through the use of mosquitoes net, cleaning of environment, and spraying of insecticides.

 

Lauding the warm reception of thier host community Commodore Ugochukwu said the Naval Base Banda has done a lot in educating the people on their health and urged the residents to take the advantage of the free medical Rhapsody for the benefit of their health.

 

He also, assure that malaria in Banda community will be reduce after the free medical Rhapsody program.

 

Sequel to the free medical program, the President Association of Resident Doctors, Doctor Babatunde Adewale called on the people to keep to proper hygiene and listed illnesses that were attended to on spot at program such as dabieties, hypertension, upper respiratory track infection, dental issues and eye problems among other ailments.

 

He said, the program will also attended to some surgical isssues that are minor like tissue swelling will be handle.

 

 

He advised the residents of Banda Communities to prevent malaria by clearing bushes, and always avoid stagnate water around them.

 

“malaria is a genera pandemic in Nigeria, once their is mosquitoes there will be malaria”

 

“To prevent malaria we must eradicate mosquitoes by preventing bushes, swampy damp waters and do regularly hygiene.”he noted.

 

The chairman of Banda community Musa Ibrahim appreciated Commodore Ugochukwu and the entire Naval Base Banda for the free medical Rhapsody brought to their community.

 

A school staff of the LEA Primary school Malama Halimat, also share her excitement for the care the Naval Base Banda shown towards the people of Banda and seek for more assistance in provision for academic materials for the pupils.
