Natasha Akpoti Hadiza was born on the 9th of December 1979 and she hails from Kogi state. She is the only daughter of four kids and her mother was a Ukrainian while her dad was a Nigerian. She completed her early education at Christ the King Nursery and Primary School, Okene, Kogi State before she proceeded to Government Girls Unity Secondary School, Ondo State.

Natasha Akpoti went to the University of Abuja where she earned her Bachelor of Law degree. She was called to the Nigerian bar in 2005. She holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Dundee. She also holds a Master of Business Administration in Oil & Gas Management from the same university.

Natasha Akpoti began her career as a legal counsel at Brass NLG before she established the Builders Hub Impact Investment Program (BHIIP). She came into the spotlight in 2018 after presenting an investigative report to the National Assembly on corrupt activities regarding the Ajaokuta Steel mill.

In 2018, Natasha Akpoti ventured into politics and contested in the 2019 Kogi Central Senatorial election under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) but lost the seat to the All-Progress Congress (APC) candidate Yakubu Oseni.

Natasha Akpoti later joined the People Democratic Party (PDP) and won the primary election for the 2023 Kogi Centre Senatorial Elections. On September 6, 2023, she was declared by the Kogi State Election Petitions Tribunal as the winner of the Kogi Central Senatorial election held in February.
