The Nigeria police say that normalcy has returned to Ipaja in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State, after a clash involving police personnel and hoodlums in the area.
Over 100 hoodlums on Monday reportedly attacked the Ipaja Police Station which resulted in a gun battle between the thugs and police officers.
There are fears that many persons were injured but the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, told SaharaReporters on Monday that he did not have the casualty figure yet.
Police officers were mobilised to the area.
Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters on Monday said normalcy had been restored to the area.
“Normalcy has been restored in the area, but I don’t have the number of the casualties yet,” he said.
