Manchester City Forward Set To Join Barcelona.

Barcelona have agreed a €50 million deal to sign Manchester City winger Ferran Torres according to Fabrizio Romano.

On Wednesday, December 22, the Blaugrana raised their offer to 55 million euros plus 10 million euros in add-ons for the 21-year-old after their first two bids – of 45 million euros and 50 million euros – were turned down by City.

The Premier League club told Barcelona that Ferran would cost them 70 million euros, and now they are close to that figure, the offer is being contemplated at the Etihad Stadium.

First bid

Barcelona first made contact with Manchester City a few weeks ago to inform them of their interest in Ferran, whom Xavi Hernandez is keen to bring to the Camp Nou.

However, the Catalan club’s opening offer of 45 million euros was immediately rejected by City.

Pep Guardiola has given the green light for Ferran to be sold as he is not an important player, but only on the basis that City receive a fee that is market value.

City told Barcelona that they value the Spain international at 70 million euros, and the Blaugrana then made a later bid of 50 million euros plus add-ons, but this was also rejected.

Latest offer

This Wednesday, Barcelona went back to Manchester City with a bid of 55 million euros plus 10 million euros in add-ons, which is now under consideration by the English club as it is close to their asking price.

The deal is not yet closed as the two clubs continue to negotiate, with Christmas having been set as a deadline, but it now seems that Ferran is getting ever closer to returning to Spain and joining Barcelona.
