With different banners and placards, members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) trooped out on major streets across states of the federation on Wednesday morning to protest over the removal of petrol subsidy by the federal government.
Truetells Nigeria reports that the NLC had issued a seven-day ultimatum to the federal government to reverse the fuel subsidy removal and all the policies that are anti-people under the incumbent administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The labour union also called on Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and its councils across the states to join in the August 2 nationwide strike to protest the soaring cost of living in the country.
