Lagos state government shuts down Agege Central Mosque

The Lagos State Government has shut the Agege Central Mosque after some worshippers on Wednesday April 1st, attacked members of the State COVID-19 Taskforce mandated to monitor and enforce compliance against public gatherings exceeding 25 people.

The taskforce team acting on a tipoff, stormed the mosque to stop the prayer session but were rather attacked by the over 300 Muslims praying in the mosque. Read initial story here.

 

The state government today moved in and sealed off the mosque.
