A Lagos-based real estate businessman, Abubakar Mayaki-Sulaimon, has dismissed the media reports making round the social media that he fraudulently obtained the sum of 40,000 USD from one Dr Kehinde Olafiranye for the purpose of facilitating allocation of land at Idi Orogbo-Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos.
Mayaki-Sulaimon while speaking with journalists on the issue at a press conference in Ikeja, said that he was shocked that Olafiranye whom he had no direct link or contact with could go to the media to allege him of collecting such huge amount of money to ease the collection of land allocation letter from the state government.
He said that he never got involve in the processing of land allocation letter because it was a herculean task, adding that land documents processing always take time to materialise.
The real estate mogul explained that it was Mr John Zubair Enetomeh who introduced Olafiranye as a financier to secure protection over expanse of land he was occupying which had created so much unnecessary issues concerning the root of title.
He added that it was Enetomeh who contacted him to secure official documents to ward-off incessant attacks from trespassers, adding that at no time he had direct discussions with Olafiranye as to which state government official was involved.
” I never had direct discussions with Mr Kehinde Olafiranye as to which official of the state government was involved and there was no mention of any Commissioner in respect of the documentation of the land.
In a response letter sighted by journalists which was written by Mayaki-Sulaimon’s lawyer, Tijani Ishola and Co, the lawyer said ” That it was the said Mr John Zubair Enetomeh who in one of our client’s meeting in the presence of your client that he was interfacing with some Lagos state government officials for the assistance with a view to creating enabling environment for the documentation to enable him enjoy peaceful possession of the said land.
One of the business partners of Mayaki-Sulaimon, Mr Seun who jointly addressed the media at the press conference, testified that Mayaki-Sulaimon is known to be a straightforward, transparent and sincere real estate businessman who has never got involved in any dubious act, saying that it was Olafiranye who claimed to know the State’s Surveyor-General for the Amisu family that should be wary of.
