Lagos police identify man filmed firing shots at Ladipo market as a serving inspector

The spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has said that the man filmed firing gunshots from an AK-47 to celebrate the reopening of the popular Ladipo market is an officer. In a post shared on his X handle, Hundeyin gave the name of the officer as Inspector Istifanus Kwanchi.

 

‘’The police officer in this video, Inspector Istifanus Kwanchi, serving with the Mobile Police (MOPOL), has been brought in for appropriate disciplinary actions.  LagosPoliceNG

condemns in its entirety all forms of unprofessional and unethical behaviour on the part of its officers and men; and will definitely bring to book anyone found culpable.”
