Lagos Police Commissioner Orders Arrest Of Host of ‘Petrol Sharing’ Party

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has ordered the immediate arrest of the host of an event in the Oniru area of the state.

Truetells Nigeria reports that petrol was shared as souvenirs to attendees in kegs at the party which had drawn widespread condemnation.

The police spokesman in the state, Adekunle Ajisebutu, made this known in a statement on Saturday.

Recall that Havillah Event Centre, Oniru, where petrol was used as a souvenir at a party, was sealed by the Lagos State Government for violating safety regulations.

The event centre was sealed by officials of the Lagos Safety Commission and the Rapid Response Squad “for Contravening Public Safety Rules”.

Gbenga Omotoso, the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy spokesman, on  Saturday revealed that the state government would probe the use of petrol as souvenir at a party.
