Lagos LG Polls: Ejigbo APC Elders, Ex-Political Office Holders Adopt Ajayi

Ejigbo All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders and the Ex-Political Officeholders in Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (ELCDA) have adopted Hon. Peter Ajayi as their candidate in the forthcoming local government elections, directing their followers to campaign for his candidature.

The APC Elders made this decision at an extensive meeting held in Ejigbo, Lagos, after deliberating on the coming election in the council.

In a resolution signed by all the party elders headed by Engr. Dayo Longe, they said “The delibration majorly centered on which of our chairmanship aspirants (Hon Monsurudeen Obe and Peter Ajayi) to be endorsed.

” After a robust debate on this, we, the leaders of Ejigbo APC unanimously endorse Hon. Peter Ajayi as the consensus candidate of the leaders and our followership.

” We use this opportunity to plead with all APC members in Ejigbo to maintain peace and shun violence as members of one family”.

Some of those present at the meeting were Engr. Longe, Chf Arulogun, Mr Bayo Okunola, Alh Ariyo, Chf Olakanse, Mrs Akintade, Alh Kadiri Lawal, Prince Akinyemi, Mr Dorisamu, and Alhaja Emida amongst others.

Earlier, the Ex-Political officeholders in the local council have thrown their weight behind the aspiration of Ajayi, saying that the current administration was insensitive to people’s welfare.

In a communique co-signed by Hon. Taningbola Muritala (Coordinator) and Hon Lekan Musa (Secretary), the group said that during last year lock down, Ajayi came to rescue of people of the community and that he displayed leadership qualities not seen in the incumbent chairman.

The communique reads ” We support, associate and identify ourselves with the candidacy of Hon. Peter Ajayi as our choice to become the next Executive Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA. The out-of-control , high handedness and insensitivity by the outgoing administration to people’s welfare, deplorable state of our roads which have impeded various private projects and have hampered economic activities at every nook and corner of Ejigbo LCDA is unbecoming and a major concern to the electorates, many who have vowed never to come out to vote ,if the present occupant is fielded as APC Candidate.

” The association recommended and pronounced that our resolve for Chairmanship of Ejigbo LCDA at the next elections is Hon. Peter Ajayi. We consequently endorsed and recommended Hon. Peter Ajayi as our choice as Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA. The rationale being that his welfare package for the widows, youths, Senior Citizens, religious Leaders, Community Leaders and residents in Ejigbo LCDA are inexpressible especially during the lockdown and period that covid-19 pandemic engulfed our communities.

” The Association reiterated its unalloyed commitments to support Hon. Peter Ajayi’s candidacy being a responsible and responsive ambassador of Ejigbo LCDA at the state level and whose stated vision, manifestoes and priorities are towards entrenching and internalising social and economic values in Ejigbo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.

” The Association commended Hon. Peter Ajayi on his courage and audacity to challenge the apparent neglect of Stakeholders and Chieftains of All Progressives Party(APC) comprising of the Elders and Leaders by the outgoing administration of Ejigbo LCDA.

“We also appreciate his utmost passion to seek the support of party members to get the ticket at the primary elections billed for 29th May,2021.

” The Association appreciated previous welfare package extended to the religious leaders and youths of various backgrounds by Hon. Peter Ajayi, most particularly during festive periods and the lockdown.

” The Association resolved that its members are assets to Ejigbo LCDA and are ever ready to offer our experience and expertise to Ejigbo LCDA when needed”.
