Lagos State Government has set up a NGN2 billion relief fund to help the victims of explosion in the Abule Ado area of the state.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who visited the scene of the explosion earlier on Monday said this was done in a bid to give immediate relief and support to victims of the disaster.
The governor also mentioned that the state has immediately funded the account with a tune of NGN250 million. The relief fund is to be chaired by the deputy governor Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
“The incident is certainly beyond what government can independently pulloff and we will count on your support to contribute to this fund as we work to provide succour for the victims of this unfortunate incident, the governor said while drumming support of citizens.
“I appeal to everyone to be a part of helping to provide this much needed relief, he said on his official Twitter profile.
