Today, November 16, 2019, Kogi people will vote for their preferred number one citizen in the Kogi governorship election 2019, to oversee the north-central state for another four years.
TrueTellsNigeria reports that the Kogi election will take place in twenty-one (21) Local Government Areas (LGA) and two hundred and thirty-nine (239) wards in the state.

7. Idah LGA – 10 WARDS.
8. Igalamela-Odolu LGA – 10 WARDS.
9. Ijumu LGA – 15 WARDS.
10. Kabba/Bunu LGA – 15 WARDS.
11. Kogi LGA – 11 WARDS.
12. Lokoja LGA – 10 WARDS.
13. Mopa Moro LGA – 10 WARDS.
14. Ofu LGA – 11 WARDS.
15. Ogori/Magongo LGA – 10 WARDS.
16. Okehi LGA – 11 WARDS.
17. Okene LGA – 11 WARDS.
18. Olamaboro LGA – 10 WARDS.
19. Omala LGA – 11 WARDS.
20. Yagba West LGA – 10 WARDS.
21. Yagba East LGA – 14 WARDS.
Twenty-four (24) political parties and candidates are registered for the Kogi governorship election but two; the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been identified by political analysts as the main contenders for the election.
Incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello is seeking a second term in office in the platform of the APC while Musa Wada of the PDP is hoping to unseat him.
The election is being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

9:40 pm (November 15): Deployment of staff and materials for Kogi Governorship Election.
10:41 AM: Senator Smart Adeyemi has just arrived at Ijumu Iyara 002 polling unit where he is expected to cast his vote.
He has joined the queue, waiting to get accredited and cast his vote.
10:30 AM: Some wards and units were merged together in Sagbama LGA of Bayelsa State because some communities were flooded.
10:15 AM: Voting going on smoothly at Amule polling unit in Lokoja, Kogi State.
10:10 AM: PDP Deputy Governorship Candidate, Senator Lawrence Ewrhujakpor, casts his vote at Ofoni Community in Bayelsa State.
9:47 AM: In Brass Constituency I in Bayelsa, distribution of materials to the various polling units started at about 7am.
Accreditation has begun but voting is yet to commence in Polling Units 7 and 3 in Ward One.
9:40AM: Accreditation process is about to commence at Unit 013 in Epie III, Amarata in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
