At the 50th National Convention of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nigeria held in Ibadan, Oyo State, new officers that will steer the ship of the organization in 2023 were elected.
The National Convention is an annual event that unites JCI members, like-minded young leaders and partners from across the country to exchange opportunities, network and experience cross-cultural collaboration. The event also featured: Leadership Academy, , training and the election of national officers for the coming year.
Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a global membership-based organization that’s developing enterprising leaders for a changing world. The organization takes its members through a development journey to equip them with their full potential as leaders in a changing world.
Elected as the National President 2023, is Abdullahi Attahiru from JCI Aso, Abuja. Sitting on the top of the leadership table for the southwest region for 2023 is Gafar Odubote, who was elected as the Executive Vice President (EVP) and to be assisted by two National Vice Presidents (NVP); Miss Chika Ibobo and Mr Stephen Oluwabunmi and Promise Isaac; the Collegiate Vice Chairman (CVC).
Gafar Odubote is the Head of Corporate Finance and Strategy at Nobleserve Capital Management Limited – a CBN licensed Finance Company. He is a seasoned Financial Analyst, Investment Banker, Management strategist, and Sustainability advocate. He served as a National Vice President of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nigeria for 2022 and National Treasurer in 2021. He was awarded the 2019 Most Outstanding Member in JCI during the 2019 World Congress in Tallinn, Estonia and the 2019 Most Outstanding Member in Africa and the Middle East, received in Balaclava, Mauritius. Gafar is a past president of JCI Eko in Lagos.
JCI aims to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change, and to also promote the theme of JCI Nigeria for 2023; being led by Abdullahi Attairu; the 2023 President of the Organization with emphasis on skilling up members for the new economy, engaging key stakeholders for an improved organization and creating development opportunities. Their tenure in office will commence on January 1st, 2023, to December 31st, 2023
