Truetells Nigeria reports that Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran popularly known as Jandor is a politician well known among the political circles in Lagos state.
He is the 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the party with Nollywood star actress, Funke Akindele as his deputy.
Azeez Olajide Adediran is the Convener of Lagos4Lagos movement, a group of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He is a journalist and serial entrepreneur born to a Christian mother, Mrs Ruth Oluwafunmilayo Adediran, and a Muslim father, Alhaji Adediran.
Jandor is the 5th born in his family. He has seven siblings.
The Lagos-born politician describes himself as “a true son of Aworiland from the Osolu and Elete Kingdoms of Ojo local government area of Lagos”.
He grew up in Mushin area of the state.
Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran is a Nigerian journalist, successful serial entrepreneur, philanthropist and technocrat.
Jandor was born on November 25, 1977. He is at the time of filing this article 44 years old but expected to be 45-year-old later this year (2022), by November 25.
At present, Olajide Adediran only has one wife. His wife’s name is Mrs Maryam Olajide Adediran.
The couple has two children, a son and a daughter.
Their daughter’s name is Fareedah Oluwamayokun Amoke Olajide-Adediran while their son’s name is Fadhilulah Oluwamurewa Adedayo Akanniade Olajide-Adediran.
Jandor is an alumnus of the Polytechnic Ibadan; Modul University, Vienna; the Prestigious Howard University School of Business, Washington DC, USA; and Oxford University, Oxford, United Kingdom.
He is a member of several professional bodies such as the;
He is currently Chairman and Group CEO of Core Media Group, a conglomerate consisting several other companies including CoreTvNews, a 24hr digital terrestrial television station; he is Chairman Datanet Project Services, an oil installation and procurement services company; Chairman, The Floral Consult; Owner, Core-Bet, a Casino and Sports Betting firm; and Chairman/Lead Visioner, Jandor Foundation, a privately run non-governmental organization solely established to empower and liberate the less privileged, especially in Lagos.
Jandor was the lead convener of the Lagos4Lagos movement, a faction of the state’s All Progressive Congress (APC) which eventually decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
When asked why the movement emerged, Jandor said: “I have read and heard divergent views over our decision to dump the APC for the PDP, and I can’t but appreciate all sides of the divide for at least considering us worthy of their precious time, discussing our position”.
About six aspirants showed interest in contesting the PDP Lagos 2023 governorhsip flagbearer position.
They were: Olajide Adediran, Adedeji Doherty, Rhodes Gbadebo, Ade Dosunmu, David Kolawole, and Otunba Jimi Karmal, David Vaughan.

Jandor eventually emerges the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate for the 2023 election.
Mr Emmanuel Ogidi, Chairman of the Lagos PDP Electoral Committee/Returning Officer, announced the results in Ikeja, saying Adediran received 679 votes to defeat his opponent, Mr David Vaughan, who received 20 votes.
709 ad hoc delegates were recognised for the election, according to Ogidi, who highlighted that there were 775 ad hoc delegates for the primary.
According to him, ten votes in the election were invalidated.
Ogidi said: “The total number of accredited voters is 709, and Olajide Adediran got 679 votes, DAKOVA (David Kolawole Vaughan) had 20 and we had 10 voided votes.
“Having satisfied all the requirements in our guidelines, I want to announce Dr Olajide Adediran as our candidate after scoring the highest votes of 679. He is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”
On July 6, 2022, the Lagos PDP unveiled popular Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele as Jandor’s running mate.
Speaking on why she accepted to be the deputy candidate of the party with Olajide Adediran as the main flagbearer, Lagos-born Akindele said the need to bring positive change to women, youth and children informs her acceptance of the position.
Olajide Adediran is reportedly worth about $7 million although this cannot be independently verified. His source of wealth is presumed should be from his various businesses.
