Popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has accused Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, a singer and founder of Marlian Music, of spiking her children’s food and drinks with drugs when they visited him.
The actress made the allegation in a video she uploaded on social media.
Naira Marley is being investigated by the police for his alleged involvement in the death of fellow artiste, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, who died on September 12, 2023.
According to Ojo, she allowed her children to visit Naira Marley because she trusted him. However,
and thought was sensible before and the reason she sent her children to always greet the singer in his home. However, her perception of Naira Marley changed after she discovered that the singer spiked the food and drinks he gave her children during their visit.
She said: “Is it that same Naira Marley that I used to send my children to? Even my children go to his house. That I was thinking he is a sensible person. That would be giving them drug to take. He put it in their food and drink. Is it that kind of person you want me to support?
“The Naira Marley and Sam Larry that you’re supporting, they have plenty cases to answer to, even from me because my children that went to his house, he (Naira Marley) spiked their drink with drugs, which two or three people have testified that they were there.”
She also threatened to institute legal action against Naira Marley on this basis.
She continued: “Me too I have that case to pursue against you (Naira Marley). I have not started my case with them. Let them finish with the one they are facing before I add my own. Do you understand? There is no distraction. Let’s take one at a time.”
Iyabo Ojo has been very vocal regarding the investigation of the sudden death of Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley’s record label.
Mr. Olalekan Ojo, the lawyer representing Naira Marley, has insisted that there is no evidence linking his client and music promoter, Samson Balogun also known as Sam Larry, to the death of Mohbad.
