Apple has unveiled its newest iPhone lineup at its “Wonderlust” event on September 12, 2023. The iPhone 15 series consists of four models: the iPhone 15, the iPhone 15 Plus, the iPhone 15 Pro, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Each model offers a range of features and improvements over the previous generation, such as a new design, a new display, a new camera system, a new processor, and a new connector.
Here are the details of each iPhone 15 model and what they have to offer.
iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus
The iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus are the standard models of the series, aimed at the general consumers who want a reliable and affordable smartphone.
They feature a color-infused back glass with a textured matte finish, and a contoured edge on the aluminum enclosure. They also feature the Dynamic Island, an innovative way to interact with important alerts and live activities on the top of the screen.
The display size of the iPhone 15 is 6.1 inches, while the iPhone 15 Plus has a larger 6.7-inch display. Both models have a Super Retina XDR display with up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness for HDR content. The display also supports True Tone, Haptic Touch, and P3 wide color gamut.
The main camera on the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus is a 48-megapixel sensor that can capture super-high-resolution photos and videos.
It also supports a new 2x telephoto zoom option, giving users a total of three optical zoom levels.

The processor powering the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus is the A16 Bionic chip, which is based on the same chip that was used in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.
The A16 Bionic chip provides fast performance, smooth graphics, and efficient battery life. It also supports Neural Engine, Machine Learning Accelerators, and Core ML for advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities.
The base storage option for both models is 128GB, with options to upgrade to 256GB or 512GB. The battery size of the iPhone 15 is 3,877 mAh, while the iPhone 15 Plus has a larger 4,912 mAh battery.
Both models support wireless charging with MagSafe and Qi-compatible chargers, as well as fast charging with USB-C.
One of the biggest changes in the iPhone 15 series is the switch from Lightning to USB-C for wired charging and connectivity.
USB-C offers faster data transfer speeds and wider compatibility with other devices and accessories. It also supports USB Power Delivery for fast charging up to 35 watts.

However, unlike their standard counterparts, they also support HEIC format for 48-megapixel photos at different focal lengths: 24mm (wide), 35mm (standard), and 48mm (telephoto). The camera system also supports Focus and Depth Control, Night mode, Smart HDR, ProRAW, and Spatial video.
