Truetells Nigeria reports that following the postponement of the governorship and state assembly elections from March 11 to 18 by the electoral body, the exercise was finally conducted in 28 out of 36 states of the federation.
Recall that INEC failed to upload results immediately on its result viewing portal during the February 25 presidential election in real-time after promising to be transparent and trustworthy.
But the commission in its defence explained that technical glitches marred result transmission and upload of results on IReV which many Nigerians refused to accept.
However, a few days before the March 18 elections, INEC said that the technical issues had been rectified and assured Nigerians that election results would be transmitted immediately.
For Saturday’s elections polls, results of 28 states have made it to the IReV portal as of 9 pm. See the states below and the number of governorship election results uploaded so far.
