Two persons have been found dead, following the collapse of an illegal bunkering site located at the Orita J4 Pipeline Ogbere area of Ogun State.
Quest Times gathered that the victims lost their lives during an illegal pipeline Bunkering operation.
A police source disclosed that the incident happened on Christmas day, (Monday, 25th December), while noting that both deceased victims were trapped in the pit for hours before help could come.
Also, a source at the Police Ogbere Division, said some residents of the community had allegedly dug a deep pit, with the intention of stealing oil, adding that the duo who were already in the pit got trapped when the pit caved in on them.
Afterwards, the lifeless bodies of the deceased were found on the floor, covered in mud at the crime scene.
Meanwhile, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Odutola Omolola, confirmed the incident, saying that the corpses had been deposited at a morgue for preservation.
In addition, the PPRO said one of the suspects has been identified as Super Asogbon.
She stated, “One of the deceased suspects is called Super Asogbon. The other suspect is not known yet. The corpse had been taken to the Ajebandale morgue.”
