Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, has joined Saudi Arabian side, Al-Hilal from rivals Al Shabab.
Al-Hilal who are currently fourth in the Saudi League announced the signing of the Nigeria international after he penned a one-and-a-half-year deal until June 2023.
“Welcome the ‘Eagle’, Odion Ighalo,” the tweet from Al Hilal read, accompanied by a graphic image of the Nigerian in his club’s colour.
The striker will replace Bafétimbi Gomis after the Frenchman’s contract was terminated on January 24.
The former Manchester United striker is currently the top scorer in the Saudi Arabian league with 13 league goals from 19 appearances.
Al Hilal are fourth on the table, 10 points behind log leaders Al-Ittihad.
Ighalo joined Al Shabab in February 2021, after signing a two-and-a-half-year deal. The Saudi Arabian side had blocked the striker from representing Nigeria at the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
