Naija News recalls that the fraudster who has been in U.S prison since June 2020 following his extradition from Dubai awaits his final sentencing on Monday, 19th September.
In a handwritten letter obtained by Peoples Gazette, Hushpuppi appealed to Judge Otis D. Wright, claiming he made only $300,000 from his involvement in the crimes he has been tried for.
According to him, he became rich through his business which he started 25 years ago, selling sneakers and clothing from his car trunk to owning his boutique across the city and beyond.
He noted that his business was registered with the name, ‘MONEABBAS NIG LTD’ and he joined the photo and video sharing app, Instagram, in 2012 to share his style online.
Hushpuppi added that his business became successful and expanded into luxury fashion, real estate, automobile sales and entertainment deals.
The Peoples Gazette confirmed that a check shows that Hushpuppi registered Moneabbas Nigeria Ltd on August 4, 2016, with the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission.
