Naija News reports that Tinubu also refused to send his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, to represent him as he has done on other occasions.
While the APC Presidential candidate was absent, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar, who is out of the country, was represented by his running mate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.
Giving reasons for his absence at the town hall meeting in a statement on Sunday night, the Chief Spokesman of the APC PCC, Festus Keyamo, said Tinubu failed to attend the event because he does not want to be unfair and selective in appearing on radio and television networks.
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment stated that Tinubu’s busy and hectic campaign schedules will not permit him to attend debates organised by different radio and TV televisions.
However, the APC presidential candidate found time to attend the 80th birthday celebration of Elder statesman, Col. Sani Bello (rtd), who is the father of Niger State Governor, Sani Bello, at the International Conference Center.
See how Nigerians reacted below:
Abiodun Ninja: Such disrespect. Instead of sharing his ideas with the Nigerian voters he chose to go party with his big men friends abi. Ekun egbere is waiting for him in 2023.
Tosin Adeda: He shared his manifesto, have you read it? Or you don’t know how to read and write? Is the manifesto not him sharing his plans for the Nigerian people?
Neck presser: the dullest presidential candidate ever running away from media hahahahaha
Ghost trader: He will continue to attend birthday parties and naming ceremonies hoping INEC would rig elections for him. His mindset of becoming President is by giving out money and bribing officials! You reap what you sow. Emilokan.
Omovudu: Oh so he wasn’t even abroad for medical treatment but went to party. Lol, your oga dey fear to answer question. 😂😂😂
