Dr. Abiye Sekibo, Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State, escaped death by the whiskers on Thursday, February 9, after gunmen opened fire on his vehicle.
Speaking to journalists on Friday, February 10, Sekibo said the gunmen dressed in police uniform opened fire on his bullet proof SUV at Rainbow town in Port Harcourt, the state capital, when he went to inspect the venue of the PDP presidential rally.
Sekibo said this occurred after the venue of the rally was set on fire.
?As we approached the site, those men who were watching the inferno opened fire on our vehicle. I looked at the Hilux vehicles, they were police Hilux vehicles attached to the Governor of Rivers State.? Sekibo said
