Some yet-to-be-identified hoodlums have burnt the house of Paschal Agbodike, a member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The assailants were said to have invaded the lawmaker’s house located in Ubahi-Mbosi in the Ihiala Local Government Area of the state at about 1 am on Tuesday and started shooting indiscriminately before burning the house.
It was gathered that although no life was lost. However, the house, consisting of a fully-furnished five-bedroom duplex with four living rooms and a kitchen, was completely razed down by the hoodlums, The PUNCH reports.
Confirming the incident on Tuesday, Agbodike said he was informed about the incident on the telephone while he was in Abuja, adding that before security operatives arrived at the scene, the hoodlums had fled.
The federal lawmaker however did not state if he suspected anyone or whether it was politically motivated.
The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, who also confirmed the incident, said that surveillance efforts were ongoing in the area.
“The area has been condoned and security operatives have been deployed in the area. There are ongoing surveillance efforts by the operatives,” he said.
