Gunmen Attack Kwara Church, Abduct Worshippers as Security Forces Rescue Three

Suspected bandits on Sunday attacked an ECWA church in the Omugo community of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting several worshippers during service, TRUETELLS Nigeria reports.

The early morning invasion threw the area into panic as armed assailants stormed the church premises and whisked away congregants.

According to a local source, no fewer than seven people were kidnapped in the attack, although details surrounding the incident remain unclear.

In a swift response, joint security operatives were able to rescue three of the victims and repel the attackers.

Confirming the development, the Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Bolanle Olukoju, commended the coordinated efforts of security agencies, forest guards, and local vigilantes.

She said the prompt intervention led to the rescue of some victims and prevented further casualties.

Olukoju added that security agencies have been directed to intensify efforts to secure the release of those still in captivity and ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended.
