Glo unveils data roaming services for Hajj pilgrims

Customers of Nigeria’s foremost telecommunications company, Globacom, will enjoy affordable roaming data to stay connected with family and friends back home when performing their holy pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina.

 

The company has unveiled a special Glo Data roaming package in partnership with Zain Saudi Arabia which will make the religious obligation seamless as customers enjoy its data services in the Holy land for as low as N5/MB.

 

Glo explained in a press release issued in Lagos that pilgrims will get 3GB for N15,000 with 30 days validity, 1.25GB for N6,500 with 15 days validity, 600MB for N3,500 with 7 days validity, and 300MB for just N2,000 with 3 days validity.

 

“Besides its affordability, the data bundle can be purchased while in Nigeria and its validity starts when the subscriber lands in the Holy land”, Glo added.

 

According to the grandmasters of data, “Subscribers are also in control of their usage and there are no fears of additional billing as they only use from the bundle they purchase. Glo also ensures that customers receive consumption messages several times to enable them monitor their depletion of the data purchased”.

 

The operator noted that since roaming services are activated by default on prepaid lines, prepaid subscribers should have sufficient balance on their account while postpaid subscribers must activate roaming service before they choose any of the available bundles.

 

Aside this special offer for the benefit of pilgrims to Mecca and Medina, Hajj period, the company has a roaming partnership in Saudi Arabia and several other countries where its subscribers can enjoy seamless roaming services anytime they travel to any of the affected countries including the United Kingdom, United States, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Netherlands, France, Cameroon, Ghana, Germany, Kenya, Italy, South Africa, South Africa, Cote D’Ivoire and Switzerland.

 

Others include Niger, Croatia, Greece, Sweden, Senegal, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Ireland, Malta, Sri Lanka, Qatar, Turkey, Benin, Luxembourg, Morocco, Hong Kong, Iceland, Poland, Vatican, San Marino, Liechtenstein, Monaco and Andorra.
