A gas explosion has rocked the National Arts Theatre in the Igamu area of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.
Although the fire due to the explosion has been brought under control, SaharaReporters gathered that gas cylinders caused it within the National Arts Theatre complex.
According to reports, the inferno started around 10 pm on Saturday.
Meanwhile, operatives of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service were deployed to put out the raging fire.
The Director of the State Fire and Rescue Service, Magaret Adeseye, confirmed that an exploded gas cylinder caused the fire but added that the situation had been brought under control.
There was no casualty as of the time of this report.
Meanwhile, the incident might affect any events scheduled for New Year’s Eve at the venue.
