A gas explosion in Agege has left four adults – three females and a male – with varying degrees of injury.
The incident occurred on Monday at the Ijaiye area of Agege in Lagos, southwest Nigeria.
According to the state emergency management agency, LASEMA, the explosion started inside a shop where gas cylinders were stored. The shop was believed to have caught fire.
No life was lost but the four victims sustained second-degree burns and have been taken to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, according to the LASEMA Director-General, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyitolu.
In November 2021, five persons including a 10-year-old boy lost their lives while many others were injured in a gas explosion that occurred at Papa Ajao, Mushin, Lagos.
