Former Nigerian Military Spokesman, Major-General Onyeuko Is Dead

A former Director of the Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters, Abuja, Major-General Bernard Onyeuko (rtd), has been confirmed dead.

It was gathered that Onyeuko died on Saturday morning after complaining of a cold and was rushed to a private hospital where he died.

General Onyeuko who retired from the Nigerian Army after the recent appointment of new service chiefs was a former Director, Defence Media Operations.

Meanwhile, a close friend to the deceased told PRNigeria that General Onyeuko was hale and hearty on Friday until he fell ill on Saturday morning and died.

Onyeuko was posted to Defence Headquarters Department of Logistics after he was replaced as the spokesperson.

He was appointed as a Director of Procurement at the Defence Headquarters and was later promoted Major General in December, 2022.
