Nigeria Football Federation on Wednesday appointed Portuguese coach, Jose Peseiro, as the new head coach of the Super Eagles.
The NFF in a statement released disclosed that Peseiro would take over from the interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen, after AFCON 2021 in Cameroon.
The football governing body further stated that Peseiro is expected to be at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) as an observer.

– The Portuguese football manager, Jose Peseiro was born on 4 April 1960.
– Peseiro in his playing career, played as a forward in Sport Lisboa e Cartaxo in 1979. In that competition, he represented Amora FC, Clube Oriental de Lisboa, GD Samora Correia and S.C.U. Torreense.
– The 61 years old started his coaching career in 1991 as a player coach with Union Santarem in the Portuguese fourth tier.
– Peseiro in 2003 was appointed as an assistant to Carlos Queiroz at Real Madrid.
– Peseiro has coached clubs in Portugal, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Greece, Romania, United Arab Emirates and Egypt. During his managerial career.
– Honours won by Peseiro are: Nacional (Segunda Divisão: 1999–00, AF Madeira Cup: 2001–02), Sporting CP (UEFA Cup runner-up: 2004–05)
Braga (Taça da Liga: 2012–13), Al Ahly (Egyptian Premier League: 2015–16) and Porto (Taça de Portugal runner-up: 2015–16).
