FIBOP Youth Capacity Building: Students Engage on Digital Skills, AI, Online Safety as FIBOP Promotes Education for Nigeria’s Future

The Finance and Business Online Publishers (FIBOP) Association has continued its commitment to youth development with its FIBOP Youth Capacity Building and Empowerment Programme (Third Edition 2026), themed “Digital Skills, Artificial Intelligence, Online Safety, Insurance and Financial Literacy for Nigerian Youth.”

Held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Alausa, Ikeja, students and youth participants were actively engaged throughout the programme, demonstrating keen interest in learning practical digital and financial knowledge that can improve their future opportunities.

In his opening speech, the President of the Association, Mr. Charles Onwuatogwu, emphasized the importance of good education for the future generation, stressing that equipping young people with relevant skills is key to national growth and personal development.

At the sessions, the students were enthusiastic and optimistic, expressing readiness to apply the information they gathered to better their lives and education. Their energy was especially visible as they continuously asked questions and sought further clarification on Artificial Intelligence (AI) showing strong curiosity about how AI can be used to create opportunities, solve problems, and expand knowledge.

With a focus on digital skills, AI awareness, online safety, insurance knowledge, and financial literacy, the programme reinforced FIBOP’s role in empowering Nigerian youth to become more informed, protected, and productive in an increasingly technology-driven world.

The event ultimately left participants encouraged, motivated, and hopeful that the knowledge gained will help them strengthen their skills, make better educational choices, and build more secure futures.
