The Tinubu administration has announced an upward review of Nigerian international passports from September 1, 2024.
The Nigeria Immigration Service said in a statement Wednesday night that the decision was made to preserve the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport.
Under the new pricing regime, which will take effect next month, the 32-page passport will now cost N50,000 from the previous N35,000, while the 64-page passport will now cost N100,000 from N70,000. The new fees will not apply to applicants living abroad, the immigration said.
The service apologised for the inconvenience the increase may have on some applicants and promised the public its continued commitment to transparency and excellent service delivery.
“While the Nigeria Immigration Service regrets any inconvenience this increase might cause prospective applicants, it assures Nigerians of unwavering commitment to transparency and quality service delivery at all times,” the statement signed by spokesperson K.T. Udoh said.
