Easter: NSCDC Deploys Over 2,200 Operatives to Secure Kwara

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has mobilised 2,280 personnel across all 16 local government areas to maintain security during the Easter festivities.

State Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga said the deployment is a proactive measure to prevent any breakdown of law and order throughout the holiday period. He noted that the operation is aimed at deterring criminal activities and ensuring residents celebrate in a safe environment.

Bodinga reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to protecting lives and property, stressing that officers have been strategically positioned to guarantee a smooth and incident-free celebration.

In a statement released in Ilorin by the command’s spokesperson, Ayoola Michael Shola, residents were assured of heightened security visibility across the state. Personnel have been stationed at churches, motor parks, recreational centres, shopping malls, and other key public locations.

The command also revealed that patrols and surveillance have been intensified across both urban and rural communities, while tactical units and rapid response teams remain on standby to address any emergencies.

Officers were urged to stay alert and act decisively against any criminal elements, particularly those targeting public infrastructure. The commandant also warned that anyone found disrupting the peace would be arrested and prosecuted.

He further extended Easter greetings to Christians, encouraging residents to uphold the values of love, sacrifice, and unity. Bodinga also called on the public to support security agencies by sharing timely and useful information to help ensure a peaceful celebration.
