Nigerian disc jockey, DJ Tunez, has spoken out about his recent altercation with Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy, describing the incident as a physical confrontation.
A video capturing the clash between the two entertainers recently surfaced online, quickly going viral and drawing widespread reactions from fans and followers.
Addressing the situation via his account on X (formerly Twitter), DJ Tunez alleged that he was attacked by several individuals during the incident. He specifically claimed that Burna Boy struck him from behind, which led to the escalation.
In his words, he criticised the singer’s actions, stating that the blow came unexpectedly and from behind. Despite the odds, DJ Tunez maintained that he stood his ground and defended himself even while being outnumbered.
In the aftermath, the Nigerian DJ Association released a statement on Instagram, calling on DJs across the country to uphold professionalism and exercise tolerance within the entertainment industry.
The association also announced a temporary ban on Burna Boy’s music among its members pending further investigation into the incident. It emphasised the importance of mutual respect between DJs and artists, especially during events.
As of the time of this report, Burna Boy’s management has yet to respond publicly to the allegations.
