The Deputy Vice Chancellor of Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, Adamawa State, Prof Musa Malgwi is dead.
Malgwi died while on an official duty in Abuja, according to a statement from the university.
He reportedly died after exhibiting symptoms of heart attack, according to a family friend.
While announcing the death of the university don, the Vice Chancellor of MAU, Prof. Abdullahi Liman Tukur said, “On behalf of the University community, I regret to announce the passing away of Professor Mohammed Musa Malgwi in the early hours of 18th May 2023 while on an official duty in Abuja.”
This was contained in a statement released by the Registrar of the university, Halima Bala on Thursday.
Before his demise, Prof. Malgwi was the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics of the university and previously served in various capacities as Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences and School of Postgraduate Studies.
The deceased is survived by his wife Prof. (Mrs.) Anna M. Malgwi and children.
“Burial arrangements will be announced by the family in due time,” Bala said.
