The only surviving wife of first Prime Minister, late Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Hajiya Jummai Abubakar Tafawa Balewa is dead.
Accoridng to The Nations, the wife of the former Nigerian leader was taken to India to seek medical attention for her heart disease before she was later discharged some days ago.
The late Hajiya Jummai died in Lagos in the early hours of Sunday after a protracted illness.
The development was confirmed by Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka, the granddaughter of the late Prime Minister.
Jummai died of cardiac arrest, the granddaughter of the late Prime Minister said, adding that the Tafawa Balewa wife had stopped over in Lagos to rest before returning to Bauchi.
