WASSCE has been cancelled for Nigerian students by the Federal GovernmentÂ
TruetellsNigeria reports that the Federal Government through the Minister of Education, announced that Nigerian students would not participate in the forthcoming West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)Â earlier scheduled for August 5 and September 5.
This online news medium understands that Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, Minister of State for Education, had announced earlier in the week that the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) conducted by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) would take place between August and September.
However, speaking to State House Correspondents at the end of the virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, said Nigerian schools would not reopen any time soon until it is safe to do so because of the continues spread of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

The Education Minister said he would prefer Nigerian students to lose an academic year to expose them to dangers as Coronavirus continues to spread in Nigeria.
