The President is expected to spend the forthcoming Sallah holiday in Lagos, where he will take a short break before resuming his official engagements.
Tinubu concluded his two-day visit to London on Thursday night. The trip, which began on Tuesday, March 17, was undertaken at the invitation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
During the visit, the Nigerian leader and his delegation were hosted at Windsor Castle, marking a historic moment as the first Nigerian presidential visit of its kind in 37 years. Tinubu also became the first Nigerian leader to be received by a British monarch at the castle.
The visit focused on strengthening long-standing ties between Nigeria and the UK, with discussions centred on trade, investment, immigration, defence, and cultural exchange.
While at Windsor Castle, the President and First Lady were treated to a special exhibition from the Royal Collection highlighting Nigeria’s historical connections. Tinubu also held private talks with King Charles III and engaged with organisations promoting interfaith dialogue.
A state banquet was hosted in honour of the Nigerian delegation by the Royal Family.
In addition, President Tinubu met with Keir Starmer at 10 Downing Street, where both leaders discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation. The meeting resulted in the signing of several agreements covering trade, investment, defence, and cultural collaboration.
