Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi, known professionally as Bella Shmurda on Saturday evening led a candlelight procession for the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka MohBad, in Canada.
This was seen in a short clip the Afrobeat singer shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, revealing that MohBad was not just a colleague but his best friend.
He added that Mohbad died three days after he left Nigeria and that his mum asked him not to return to Nigeria yet.
“This person is my brother, my guy, is my best friend. It’s really sad.
“I had just left Nigeria barely three days after I received the call saying Mohbad had died. My mum pleaded with me not to return to Nigeria yet. I understand her.
“God bless you wherever you are Mohbad. I don’t know what to say.
“Thank you one for coming and justice for Mohbad.”
SaharaReproters earlier reported how thousands of Nigerians nationwide had also held candlelight procession for the late singer.
On Thursday, the police in Lagos State completed the autopsy carried out on the body of the late singer.
SaharaReporters had also reported the arrest of the nurse who treated the late singer and reportedly gave him an injection before his death.
