Bayelsa Poll: ‘Policemen Were Not On Site’ – Voters Blames Security Agents Over Delay In Distribution Of Materials

Voters in  Brass Local Government Area in Bayelsa State have cried out over the delay in delivering governorship election materials meant for them.

Truetells Nigeria learnt that the election materials had not arrived as of 8:22 am on Saturday.

This contradicts the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) guideline that the election process will kick off by 8:30 am and end at 2:30 p.m.

In an interview with journalists, a Registration Area Center supervisor, Dauda Kabiru, at the Government Secondary School, blamed the police for the delay, stressing the voters were ready at 6 am.

The official said, “We were ready as at 6 am this morning, but the policemen to accompany in conveying materials to various polling units were not on site.

Those ones are only escort materials from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to the RAC, and their assignments are done here while another contingent will continue.”
