Suspected Fulani armed men invaded three communities, Jantsauni, Mai Doki, and Maiyamma, suburban areas of Yarkasuwa in Kurama Chiefdom, Lere Local Government Area, last night, killing four people.
The attackers also abducted ECWA Pastor, Rev. Istifanus Dunga, and 11 others.
The National Publicity Secretary of the Federated Kurama Association, Mr. Pius Agaji Kyauta, who confirmed the incident to Daily Post, explained that the attack occurred around 10 p.m., when the assailants stormed the communities and fired sporadically, resulting in the killing of four people and the abduction of several others.
Kyauta stated that there is an urgent need for security intervention, as the communities have been ravaged beyond imagination.
A source said his father was kidnapped without clothes, along with his younger sister, adding that the attackers, numbering in their hundreds, surrounded every targeted house.
He said, “You dare not go out to run; they will just shoot you. And if you remain indoors, they will enter and take you away.”
He confirmed that the four people killed were youths between the ages of 27 and 30, stressing that, at the moment, no ransom demands have been made by the kidnappers.
He explained that the entire community is left in deep mourning, describing the attack as an evil that has befallen the Kurama nation and requires both security and spiritual intervention.
