Bandits Bomb Kaduna-Abuja Train With 970 Passengers Onboard

Bandit terrorists on Monday planted explosives believed to be IEDs on the rail track around Katari, Kaduna State which saw a Kaduna-bound train derail.

It was gathered that the train which took off around 6 pm from the Idu train station at the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja on Monday hit an explosive device about 30 minutes to Rigasa train station in Kaduna.

As of the time of filing this report, details of the incident are still sketchy, however, Naija News gathered that a combined team of security operatives were able to bring all the passengers to safety.

A security source who spoke on the incident said, “There is no network in the area so we cannot get any information until the team we have dispatched returns.

“What we know is that suspected IEDs were planted on the track and the train has derailed. We don’t know for sure if there is any injury or death.”

The development was confirmed by the former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Shehu Sani on his Twitter account.

He wrote, “Villagers along Abuja-Kaduna road called to confirm hearing multiple gunshots and attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train by terrorists.”
