Alex Iwobi Becomes Fulham Player

Nigeria international, Alex Iwobi has completed his permanent move from Everton to Fulham late in the 2023 summer transfer window deadline day, September 1.

Even though Fulham refused to disclose the exact transfer fee paid for Iwobi’s move, Naija News gathered that Fulham paid Everton a transfer fee that could rise to £22 million.

Alex Iwobi signed a five-year deal with Fulham which will keep him at the club until June 30, 2028.

The versatile 27-year-old Nigeria footballer who could play in the midfield and the wings, left Everton months after winning the Best Player of the Season award at Everton.

After completing his move to Fulham, Iwobi said, “I’m buzzing, I just can’t wait to get started, I’m excited to start my journey here.

“Marco Silva spoke to me about the ambitions of the Club, and I’m on board. Hopefully, I can bring something to the Club.”

Fulham’s vice-chairman and director of football operations, Tony Khan added: “I’m happy to welcome Alex Iwobi to Fulham! He’s an exciting and versatile player whom we’ve admired for some time.

“He has experience in the Premier League and international competition with Nigeria. We’re excited that Alex has joined us on a long-term contract, and we believe that he’ll make a valuable contribution to Marco’s squad!”


Alex Iwobi left his childhood club, Arsenal for Everton in 2019. While at the Merseyside club, the Nigerian midfielder played 123 times in all competitions and scored six goals.
